Obverse description Central field features an elaborate interlaced JW cypher beneath a ducal crown, the monogram rendered in ornate calligraphic style. The legend F. S. E. L. M. (Fürst zu Sachsen-Eisenach, Landgraf zu Meissen) is divided across the field to either side of the crowned cypher. The overall design is characteristic of early eighteenth-century German States coinage, with the monogram occupying virtually the entire flan.
