| Obverse description | Crowned Saxon arms displayed within an ornate baroque cartouche, the shield bearing the characteristic barry with ruten-crowned diagonal stripe of the Ernestine line. A ducal crown surmounts the shield, with foliate and scrollwork decorative elements flanking the cartouche on either side. The circular legend FRIEDER· HERZ·Z·S· (Friedrich, Herzog zu Sachsen) runs along the upper periphery of the field. The coin features a milled border. |

The initials of the mint officials flank the cartouche on either side. The overall layout is characteristic of small German States billon coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
