The lettering is raised in high relief against a flat, unadorned field. A beaded or milled border encircles the entire reverse, consistent with the obverse treatment. The design is purely typographic with no pictorial elements, typical of small-denomination Scheidemünze (subsidiary coinage) of the German states in the early nineteenth century. |
