Reverse description The reverse bears a four-line inscription arranged across the central field, stating the denomination and date. The numeral '3' appears on the first line flanked by small rosette ornaments on either side, followed by 'PFENNIGE' on the second line, the date '1797' on the third line, and the Berlin Mint mark 'A' on the fourth line at the base. The inscription is executed in upright Roman lettering with no surrounding border legend, the sparse field giving the type a plain, utilitarian character typical of late eighteenth-century Prussian minor coinage.
