Obverse description The obverse bears the crowned combined family and state coat of arms of Anhalt, centrally positioned within the field, displaying the quartered heraldic shield with supporters characteristic of the duchy. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design along the rim, reading HRZGTH. ANHALT. The date appears in the lower exergue area below the arms. The engraving reflects the restrained neoclassical style typical of small German state coinage of the Vormärz period.
