| Reverse description | Half-length frontal figure of Saint Aegidius (St. Giles), patron saint of Wiedenbrück, depicted holding a book in one hand and an abbot's pastoral staff in the other, set within a beaded inner circle. The saint is shown in abbatial vestments with a nimbus, rendered in a late medieval style consistent with early sixteenth-century German coin engraving. The circular legend surrounding the inner beaded border reads SANCTVS EGIDIVS ABBAS, identifying the figure in Latin uncial script with star or cross separators. The field displays the characteristic worn surfaces typical of copper Präsenzzeichen of this period. |
