Obverse description Central field bears the crowned electoral arms of the Archbishopric of Mainz, featuring the characteristic six-spoked wheel of Mainz set within a cartouche, flanked by elaborate baroque mantling or supporters. The shield is surmounted by an electoral bonnet. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design along the coin's periphery, reading the abbreviated titles and name of Archbishop Johann Friedrich Karl von Ostein.

Below, the inscription 'PFENNIG' is struck in bold capital letters across the center of the field, followed by the mint abbreviation 'S.M.' (Scheidemünze or Stadtmünze) and the date '1761' at the base, all framed by a simple scrollwork cartouche. The coin's milled border provides a neat delimitation to the design.
