| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a displayed imperial eagle with spread wings, rendered in the bold, high-relief style characteristic of mid-16th century German hammered coinage. The eagle's head faces to the right, with finely detailed feathering on the wings and talons visible in the lower field. The date 1563 appears prominently in the upper portion of the field above the eagle. Small rosette or mullet ornaments flank the eagle on either side. The design is struck on a slightly irregular flan, consistent with hammered production technique. |
