Reverse description The numeral 3 is prominently displayed at the center of the field within a circular orb surmounted by a cross, the whole set within an elaborate baroque cartouche formed by intertwining foliate scrollwork. The date is split to either side, with 17 to the left and 47 (or 49) to the right of the central device, rendered in a bold, upright typeface typical of mid-eighteenth-century German coinage.
