正面描述 Central field features the quartered coat of arms of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, displaying the traditional Saxon and Thuringian heraldic divisions, surmounted by a ducal crown. The shield is framed by elaborate foliate and palm branch mantling extending to both sides. The mint master's initials 'F.S.' appear to the upper left and 'S.M.' to the upper right of the crowned arms, while the assayer's initials 'GHE' are positioned in the lower exergue. A dentilated border surrounds the entire design.

附加信息

Christian Ernest died in November 1745, but this joint coinage predates that — it was struck during the co-regency that followed the death of their father Franz Josias's guardianship arrangements, reflecting the complicated succession politics of a duchy that had been partitioned and reunited multiple times across the previous century. Billon issues at this weight were essentially fiduciary coinage, their silver content too thin to matter, produced to satisfy small-denomination demand in a territory too modest to sustain a full minting programme for long.
