Obverse description The obverse features the quartered arms of Saxony, displayed as a shield divided into two columns of four alternating barry and rautenkranz (diagonal stripe with bezants) segments, characteristic of the Saxon ducal coat of arms. The shield is rendered in fine detail within a plain field. The Latin legend 'S.W.U.E.' (Sachsen-Weimar und Eisenach) arcs along the upper periphery of the coin.
