Obverse description Central field features an ornate crowned royal cypher of Adolf Friedrich IV, composed of interlaced Gothic initials 'AF' rendered in an elaborate calligraphic style and surrounded by decorative foliate scrollwork. A royal crown surmounts the cipher at top. The date 1760 appears in the lower field beneath the cypher. The design is unlettered, relying entirely on the heraldic monogram as the primary device.
