Reverse description A large, bold Roman numeral 3 occupies the center of the field, surmounted by a finely detailed St. Edward's Crown; the date is divided on either side of the numeral, with the first two digits to the left and the last two to the right. The central device is enclosed within a wreath of oak leaves and acorns, tied at the base with a ribbon bow, all engraved by Jean Baptiste Merlen. The design is framed by a beaded border. The field is plain and unlettered.
