Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George VI, modelled by Thomas Humphrey Paget, occupies the central field. The portrait is rendered in restrained low relief, characteristic of Maundy coinage. A continuous Latin legend encircles the bust, incorporating the royal titles including the Imperial Indian designation IND:IMP, separated by colons in the period style. A fine toothed border frames the design.
