| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, depicted in military uniform with decorations visible at the shoulder and chest, engraved in high relief after the model by Edgar Bertram MacKennal. The king wears the Imperial State Crown and is shown in a draped bust portrait of authoritative character. The circumferential legend reads GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR, with the designer's initials B.M. appearing at the truncation. A beaded border runs along the rim. |
