Obverse description Youthful laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, executed in high relief with fine hair detail beneath the laurel wreath. The effigy is attributed to the engraver Richard Yeo and displays a classical portrait style characteristic of early Georgian coinage. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the royal legend disposed in a continuous arc around the periphery of the field.
