Obverse description The Bailiwick of Guernsey coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting three lions passant guardant arranged vertically on a shield, surmounted by a decorative sprig. The heraldic shield is rendered in fine relief with careful attention to the lions' detail. The circular legend reads 'S·BALLIVIE·INSULE·DE·GERNEREVE·S' in Latin, running along the periphery of the scalloped flan.
