Reverse description A bold, raised numeral '3' occupies the centre of the field, flanked symmetrically by two laurel or oak wreaths curving upward from a tied base at the bottom. The date is divided either side of the central device, with '19' to the left and '36' to the right, set within the wreath fronds. The overall design is compact and well-balanced, consistent with the proposed threepence coinage intended for Edward VIII's reign.
