Obverse description Uncrowned, bare-headed effigy of King Edward VIII facing left, rendered in high relief against a polished field. The portrait depicts the king with natural, lightly textured hair and a clean-shaven face, in the classical tradition of British royal coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading EDWARDVS VIII D:G:BR:OMN:REX FID DEF:IND:IMP., separated from the portrait by a raised inner border. The overall style is restrained and modernist, consistent with the proposed coinage designs of the short reign.
