Opmerkingen

Canteen vouchers of this type were issued by individual Australian Army units during the Second World War as internal scrip — soldiers could spend them at the unit canteen but nowhere else, limiting the movement of cash within camp and reducing pilferage. The 50 Composites Army Unit was based at Ingleburn, New South Wales, a major training depot throughout the war.

These vouchers were produced in tiny quantities, used hard, and discarded. Almost none were preserved intentionally.
