Additional information

Pakistan's decimal coinage transition was a drawn-out affair, and the paisa denominations went through several rounds of pattern testing before designs and metals were locked in. This bronze 3 paisa pattern from 1966 belongs to that experimental phase — the denomination itself had a short and awkward life, poorly suited to everyday transactions and eventually abandoned as the coinage system rationalized around more practical units.

Patterns from Pakistani decimal trials rarely entered auction in any volume, and attribution between official Royal Mint proposals and locally struck trials can be difficult without provenance documentation.
