Reverse description The denomination '3' is prominently displayed in large numerals at the center of the field, with the word 'MARK' inscribed directly below in smaller lettering. Beneath the denomination, crossed miner's hammers (a traditional heraldic symbol of the mining industry) are depicted in relief. The circular legend 'STADT WALDENBURG / SCHLES.' arcs around the upper and lower periphery of the field, divided at the sides. A beaded inner rim frames the design, consistent with the obverse treatment.

Additional information

Waldenburg's porcelain notgeld issues of 1922 came out of a genuine regional emergency — the post-WWI hyperinflationary spiral had made metal coinage economically irrational to produce, and the coal-mining town turned to the Meissen-adjacent tradition of Silesian ceramics manufacturing to fill the gap. Brown porcelain pieces like this one were produced in limited runs and intended for local circulation only, not export or collection, which makes surviving undamaged examples genuinely harder to find than the mintage numbers alone suggest. Chips to the edge are the norm.
