| Aanvullende informatie |
Wittig & Schwabe was a metal goods manufacturer pressed into emergency currency production during the Notgeld crisis of 1921, when municipal and commercial issuers across Germany scrambled to fill the void left by a coinage system that had effectively collapsed under postwar inflation. Porcelain Notgeld of this period was produced primarily in Saxony and Thuringia, where the ceramic industry had the tooling and kilns to take on such contracts quickly. The brown-glaze variant documented under Scheuch #306a is the less commonly encountered of the known color types for this issue.
