Reverse description The standard German Imperial eagle displayed with wings spread, depicted as a double-headed heraldic eagle surmounted by the Imperial crown with ornate scrollwork. The eagle's breast bears an escutcheon with the Imperial arms, flanked by elaborate laurel and oak branches. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by the date 1909 to the right, while DREI MARK curves along the lower periphery, all separated from the central device by a continuous beaded border. Small five-pointed stars punctuate the lower legend.
