Obverse description Central field occupied by the Danish royal coat of arms, a quartered shield displaying three crowned lions passant in the upper left and lower right quarters, with a plain cross dividing the quarters, surmounted by an open royal crown. The shield is set within a raised inner circle, with the circumferential legend running clockwise in Roman capitals along the outer border. Small star-shaped stops punctuate the legend between words. The overall style is characteristic of Renaissance hammered coinage, with bold, deeply struck relief on the armorial devices.
Obverse script Latin
