| 备注 |
The Banco Nazionale di Venezia was established in March 1848 as part of the revolutionary Venetian Republic's attempt to create independent financial infrastructure after the city expelled Austrian rule. This note is a product of that insurrection — a wartime instrument issued by a government that would cease to exist by August 1849, when Austrian forces retook the city after a prolonged siege and blockade.
The embossed seal was the primary authentication device, a practical choice for an institution printing under emergency conditions without access to sophisticated intaglio equipment. Notes from this issuer survive in small numbers; the republic lasted barely seventeen months.
