| Aanvullende informatie |
The Dietrichstein were a Moravian noble family elevated to imperial counts in the early seventeenth century, their coining rights a direct consequence of the privileges granted to Bohemian and Moravian estates before the Habsburgs systematically curtailed them after White Mountain. Sigismund Ludwig held the county during the closing years of the Thirty Years' War, and these small silver pieces circulated in a region that had been repeatedly ravaged by Swedish, Imperial, and renegade mercenary forces throughout the 1630s and early 1640s. Small denomination coinage was chronically short across Moravia in this period.
The issue spans 1644–1647 — ending just before the Peace of Westphalia.
