Obverse description Full-length standing figure of St. Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, depicted facing forward within an inner beaded circle. The saint holds a salt box in his raised right hand and a crozier in his left, rendered in the characteristic style of late 17th-century South German ecclesiastical coinage. A mitre device bisects the encircling Latin legend at the top of the field. The inscription naming the saint and see runs continuously around the periphery of the coin.

The denomination numeral 3 appears below the shields, and the date is integrated into the composition above or between them. The entire design is contained within an inner beaded circle, with the archbishop's name and titulature in Latin encircling the periphery.
