| Opis rewersu | A bold three-line denomination inscription occupies the center of the field, reading III above KREUZER above the date 1806, all in large Roman capitals. A small symmetrical laurel wreath composed of two branches curving outward from a central point frames the date below, adding a decorative neoclassical accent. The reverse field is otherwise plain, with no border legend, giving the design a clear and uncluttered appearance characteristic of Baden subsidiary coinage of the period. |

Baden's Kreuzers of this period reflect the administrative chaos following the 1803 Reichsdeputationshauptschluss, which reorganized German territorial boundaries so drastically that Baden nearly tripled in size almost overnight. New populations, new tax bases, and newly absorbed coinages created an immediate practical need for small-denomination billon issues that could circulate across territories with no shared monetary tradition. The designation "Landmünze" — land money — explicitly distinguished these from harder coinage, signaling from the outset their intended role as purely local tender.
Charles Frederick was already in his seventies when this type was struck, having ruled Baden in various capacities since 1738.
