| Beschrijving voorzijde | Within an inner circle, the city arms of Rottweil — a crowned eagle displayed — occupy the central field. The date 1622 appears prominently within the circular legend, which reads MONE. ROTWILENSIS. The overall style is characteristic of emergency Kipper-period coinage, with rough hammered workmanship and an irregular flan. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Rottweil's 1622 Kipper coinage emerged from one of the most destructive monetary episodes in pre-modern European history. The Kipper- und Wipperzeit — roughly 1619 to 1623 — saw German princes, cities, and ecclesiastical authorities systematically debase their coinage to exploit fixed exchange rates, flooding the Holy Roman Empire with underweight silver pieces before the inevitable collapse wiped out ordinary holders. Rottweil, as a Free Imperial City with its own mint rights, participated alongside hundreds of other issuers.
The silver content here is nominal at best — the 1 gram weight against a 3 Kreuzer face value tells the real story of the debasement.
