Additional information

Karl Eusebius inherited the Duchy of Troppau in 1627 following the death of his father Karl I, acquiring it under circumstances shaped entirely by Habsburg patronage during the Thirty Years' War. The 1629 date places this issue squarely within the period of the Edict of Restitution, when Ferdinand II's aggressive Catholic restoration policy was reshaping property rights and political authority across Silesia. Minor denominational silver of this type circulated heavily in a region under constant military transit, which makes genuinely unworn survivors uncommon.
