Obverse description Draped bust of Bishop Joseph Benedict von Rost facing right, wearing ecclesiastical vestments with a prominent pectoral cross and chain visible at the chest. The hair is shown in a period wig style. The legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, reading ·IOS·BEN·D·C·E·C·S·R·I·P·, abbreviated titles identifying the bishop as Prince of the Holy Roman Empire.

Reverse description A five-fold quartered coat of arms of the Bishopric of Chur surmounted by a bishop's galero (ecclesiastical hat) with pendant tassels. The divided date 17–30 appears at the upper left and right of the arms, and the denomination numeral (3) is placed in the exergue below. The circumferential legend, separated by stops, reads D·IN·FVRST·B·ET·FVRSTENAV·, referencing the bishop's lordship over Fürstenburg and Fürstenau, all within a beaded border.
