| Obverse description | Draped bust of Frederick of Hesse-Darmstadt facing right, enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the denomination numeral in a small shield positioned beneath the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the baroque ecclesiastical portrait style typical of late 17th-century German episcopal coinage. A Latin legend surrounds the bust identifying the issuer as Cardinal and Bishop of Vratislava. The overall composition is characteristic of Silesian hammered silver coinage of the period. |
