| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the Nassau lion rampant to sinister on a horizontally lined field, surmounted by a large ducal crown with visible arches and pearl-tipped points. The escutcheon is rendered in fine detail with hatched lines indicating the heraldic tinctures. A circular legend surrounds the shield, interrupted by two small pellets as word separators, reading HERZ. NASSAU. SCHEIDE. M., abbreviated for Herzogtum Nassau Scheidemünze (Nassau Duchy token coinage). |
