| Obverse description | Central field displays the Silesian eagle — a crowned, displayed eagle with a crescent on its breast — set within a beaded inner circle. The eagle is rendered in the baroque hammered style typical of Silesian coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. The circular Latin legend surrounding the inner circle reads MO. NO. AR. DV. TESCH. 1648, identifying this as a new silver coin of the Duchy of Teschen, with the date 1648 incorporated into the legend. The numeral 3 appears at the top of the coin above the eagle's crown, denoting the denomination. The overall design is characteristic of the regional coinage produced under Habsburg suzerainty. |
