Reverse description Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed in the center of the coin, with wings spread, bearing a shield on its breast charged with the Austrian arms. The eagle is struck within an inner beaded circle. The date appears in the field adjacent to the eagle, as visible on dated examples such as 1549. The peripheral legend INF•HI•ARCHID•AVST abbreviates the title Infante of Hispania, Archduke of Austria, affirming Ferdinand's dynastic claims and territorial dignities.
