3 Kreuzers - Conrad Löw of Steinfurt

The Burgraviate of Friedberg was one of the more peculiar political entities of the Holy Roman Empire — a small imperial enclave near Frankfurt whose burgraves held direct imperial immediacy despite controlling little actual territory. Conrad Löw served as burggraf during the opening months of the Thirty Years' War, and this issue dates precisely to that rupture. The war's early disruptions to trade and credit sent minor imperial lords scrambling to assert monetary authority, partly as a revenue measure and partly as a political signal.
