Obverse description Central field features the quartered arms of Saxe-Meiningen, displaying the traditional Saxon barry with a crown of rue (Rautenkranz) in bend, surmounted by a ducal crown. The mintmaster's initials 'S' and 'M' appear flanking the shield in the left and right fields respectively. The heraldic shield is rendered in a plain style characteristic of small German state coinage of the early nineteenth century.

Reverse description The numeral '3' dominates the central field, denoting the denomination in Kreuzer. Surrounding the numeral is a circular legend reading 'LANDMUNZE 3 KREUZER', with the date appearing at the base of the coin beneath the denomination numeral. The lettering is rendered in an upright Roman typeface consistent with minor German state coinage of the 1820s.
