| Aanvullende informatie |
Nuremberg lost its status as a Free Imperial City in 1806 when Napoleon reorganized the German territories through the Confederation of the Rhine, absorbing the city into the Kingdom of Bavaria by royal edict on September 15th of that year. This coin was struck in the final months before that absorption took full administrative effect, making it among the last issues produced under Nuremberg's centuries-old municipal minting authority. The city had operated its mint continuously since the medieval period — that continuity ended here.
