| Obverse description | Central device features the imperial double-headed eagle displayed, each head crowned, with the quartered arms of Zug on a shield at the center of the eagle's breast. The eagle is surmounted by a large imperial crown. The circular Latin legend MONETA·NO·TVGIENSIS· and the date 1691 run along the outer border, separated by decorative stops. The coin's field is smooth and the overall style is characteristic of late 17th-century Swiss cantonal coinage. |
