The die is characteristic of the hammered coinage produced at Hoorn for the States of West Friesland, showing the bold if slightly irregular strike typical of late seventeenth-century Dutch provincial issues. |

| Popis rubu | Standing draped female figure of the Maid of Holland (or provincial Liberty), facing slightly left, holding a hat on a lance in her raised right hand and a bundle of arrows — symbol of the union of the seven provinces — in her left arm, with a shield at her side. The date 1694 appears in the exergual area beneath the figure. The encircling legend HAC NITIMVR HANC TVEMVR runs along the border within a toothed inner rim, and the whole composition is rendered in the vigorous but somewhat crude style typical of hammered Dutch provincial thalers of the period. |
