Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, rendered in high relief with fine classical detailing. The king wears a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the nape, and a draped mantle fastened at the shoulder. The circular legend surrounds the effigy close to the toothed border. The portrait is engraved in the refined neoclassical style characteristic of Thomas Wyon the Younger.
