Obverse description Central shield displaying the quartered arms of the Duchy of Warsaw — combining the Saxon barry with the Polish white eagle — surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by a wreath of laurel and palm branches tied at the base. The eagle of Poland occupies the dexter quarter of the shield, rendered in relief against a plain field. No peripheral legend is present; the design is confined entirely to the armorial composition.
