| Reverse description | Draped and crowned bust of Stephen Báthory facing right, rendered in a somewhat crude hammered style typical of Moldavian imitative coinage of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. The effigy is encircled by a Latin legend reading STEP D G RE PO D, an abbreviated form of Stephanus Dei Gratia Rex Poloniae Dux, identifying the ruler as Stephen, by the Grace of God, King of Poland and Duke. The legend runs around the full circumference of the flan. |
