Obverse description Bearded bust of Albert of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Duke of Prussia, facing right, wearing draped armor and a shield bearing the Hohenzollern quartered arms prominently displayed before his chest. The effigy is rendered in high relief in a late Gothic to early Renaissance style. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading partially ALBER D G MAR BRAN and continuing with PRVSS on the upper field. The coin serves as the host piece for the 1577 Danzig siege countermark.
