| Descrição do reverso | Four facing busts of the remaining Ernestine brothers arranged side by side in high relief, similarly attired in period dress with ruffled collars, mirroring the obverse composition. The central field below the busts carries the multiline Latin inscription LINEA VVINARIENS followed by the date 1608 in the lower field. A Saxon arms shield appears at the upper register, and the continuous circumferential legend in abbreviated Latin records the names and titles of Albrecht, Johann Friedrich, Wilhelm Ernst, Casimir, Friedrich, and Albrecht of Saxony-Juliers-Cleves-and-Berg, Landgraves of Thuringia, Margraves of Meissen, Counts of Mark and Ravensberg, and Lords of Kranichfeld and Blankenhain. The coin exemplifies the dynastic multiple-portrait type favoured by the Ernestine dukes in the early seventeenth century. |

Issued jointly in the names of John Ernest I and his seven brothers — the sons of John William of Saxe-Weimar — this piece reflects the Saxon practice of collective dynastic coinage during periods of undivided inheritance. The brothers ruled nominally together until partition agreements gradually separated their interests across the early decades of the seventeenth century. A three-goldgulden denomination was not routine production; it was struck for presentation and diplomatic purposes, which explains both the surviving condition of most examples and the rarity of the type in general commerce.
