正面描述 Bearded bust of István Bocskai facing right, wearing armor with a ruffled collar, rendered in a somewhat crude hammered style characteristic of early 17th-century Transylvanian coinage. The effigy is surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading STEP·HVG (Stephanus Hungariae) along the upper portion and continuing around the lower field. The portrait shows expressive detail in the beard and collar despite the irregular flan. A beaded border frames the design.

附加信息

Bocskai struck these small silver pieces during the final months of his rule — he died in December 1606, but his monetary policy outlasted him briefly under successor administrations settling accounts in his name. The 3 gara denomination was a Habsburg-influenced unit awkwardly grafted onto Transylvania's monetary system, reflecting the principality's chronic shortage of small-denomination silver during the Long Turkish War's economic aftermath.

The 1608–1609 dating places production under Rákóczi Zsigmond and then Báthory Gábor, minting retrospectively or under continued authorization. Huszár's cataloguing separates die variants across the two years.
