| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a highly stylised portrait bust of Rudolf Maister rendered in a linear engraving technique, with the face and uniform defined by a series of fine horizontal lines creating a screen-print or halftone aesthetic. The effigy faces left and occupies the full field of the coin. To the right of the portrait, the name 'RUDOLF' is inscribed vertically along the rim, while 'MAISTER' appears horizontally in the lower right field. The birth year '1874' is incorporated into the design in accordance with the coin's commemorative purpose. |

Rudolf Maister was a Slovenian general and poet who, in November 1918, staged a swift military takeover of Maribor — then a predominantly German-administered city — securing it for the newly formed State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs before any diplomatic process could settle the question. His unilateral action, taken without direct orders, effectively determined the northern border of Slovenian territory. Without it, Maribor almost certainly falls within Austria.
The 2024 issue marks the 150th anniversary of his birth.
