| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a densely composed field filled with the silhouettes of numerous prehistoric creatures from across the wider coin series, including pterosaurs, various dinosaurs, and other prehistoric fauna, interspersed with stylized foliage and footprint motifs. The denomination '3 EURO' is prominently rendered in large numerals and lettering in the lower right portion of the field. The circular legend 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' runs along the upper periphery in raised incuse-style lettering. The overall design functions as a collector's key, referencing all subjects featured throughout the series. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Austria's 3 euro denomination was launched in 2018 specifically to target the children's collectibles market — priced low enough for pocket money, issued annually with a prehistoric animal theme. The Mosasaurus entry in the series follows the format established by earlier releases including the Triceratops and Stegosaurus. These are not circulation coins; they are sold directly through the mint and via retail channels, and virtually all survive in the condition they left the Münze Österreich facility in Vienna.
