Additional information

One of thousands of local currency tokens issued by French regional banks and municipalities during the mid-1990s, when the approaching euro conversion prompted a short-lived boom in commemorative "euro anticipation" pieces. Crédit Agricole branches across France sponsored many of these, nominally denominated in euros before the currency legally existed — a marketing exercise dressed as monetary history.
